The causal conjunction hoti {ὅτι | hó-ti} introduces the ground: kurios ho theos {κύριος ὁ θεός | kýrios ho theós} Himself is the source of light, expressed by the future verb phōtisei ep’ autous {φωτίσει ἐπʼ αὐτούς | phō-tí-sei ep’ autoús}, literally “will shine upon them,” which evokes both provision and favor.
