And he showed me a river of the water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God {Theos, Source Of Life} and of the Lamb {arnion, Slain Redeemer}.
In the center of its broad avenue and along the river on both sides stood the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit month by month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing {therapeian: restorative care} of the nations {ethnon: all peoples}.
And there will no longer be any curse {katathema: state of banishment}, and the throne of God {Theos, Eternal King} and of the Lamb {arnion, Co-Ruling Redeemer} will be in it, and His servants will serve Him.
And they will see His{Theos kai Arnion: Revealed King} face, and His name will be upon their foreheads{metopon: visible ownership sign}.
And night will not be any longer, and they will not have need of the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God {Kurios ho Theos, Sovereign Eternal Light} will illumine them, and they will reign for the ages {aiōnas: unending time} of the ages.
And he said to me, “These words are faithful {pistoi: trustworthy, reliable} and true. And the Lord God {Kyrios Theos, Sovereign Source of Revelation} of the spirits of the prophets sent His angel to show His servants what must happen soon.”
And look, I {Iesous, Returning Lord} am coming quickly. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book {biblos: written scroll}.
And I, John {Iōannēs: Witness Recorder}, am the one who heard and saw these things; and after I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel {angelos: heavenly messenger} who was showing these things to me.
But he warned me, “Be careful not to do that. I am a fellow servant {syndoulos: equal co-worker} alongside you, your brothers the prophets, and all who observe the words of this book. Offer worship to God {Theos, Rightful Worship Recipient}.”
And he says to me, “Do not seal the prophetic words {propheteias: inspired revelation} inscribed in this book, for the appointed moment {kairos: appointed moment} is near.”
Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; and let the filthy continue to be filthy; and let the righteous {dikaios: morally upright} continue to practice righteousness; and let the holy {hagios: dedicated to God} continue to be made holy.
Behold, I {Iesous, Righteous Judge} am coming quickly, and My reward {misthos: just recompense} is with Me, to repay each one according to what his work is.
I {Iesous, Eternal Sovereign} am the Alpha and the Omega; I am the first and the last, the beginning {arche: originating source} and the end.
Blessed are those who are washing their robes {stolas: garments of purity}, so that their authority may be over the tree of life, and that they may enter into the city through the gates {pylōsin: ceremonial entrances}.
Outside are the dogs {kynes: morally impure outsiders}, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood {pseudos: broad deception}.
I, Jesus {Iesous, Sender of Revelation}, sent My angel {angelos: heavenly envoy} to bear witness to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.
And the Spirit {Pneuma, Gracious Inviter} and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who thirsts come. Let the one who desires take the water of life {zoes: unending vitality} freely.
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book {biblion: prophetic scroll}: if anyone adds anything to them, God {Theos, Righteous Judge} will add to that person the plagues that are written in this book.
And if anyone removes any words from the book of this prophecy, God {Theos, Righteous Judge} will remove that person’s portion from the tree of life {xylon tes zoes: Source of Eternal Life} and from the holy city, from what is recorded in this book.
He who testifies {marturon: bearing witness} to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus {Kyrios Iesous, Returning Messiah}.
Let the grace of the Lord Jesus {Kyrios Iesous, Faithful Grace Giver} abide with all {panton: everyone included}. Amen.
