I am sleeping, but my heart is awake. It is the voice of my beloved knocking: “Open to me, my sister, my companion, my dove, my perfect one, for my head is filled with dew and my locks with the drops of the night.”
2. Dynamic Translation
I am asleep, but my heart remains alert. My beloved’s voice is knocking: “Let me in, my sister, my companion, my dove, my flawless one.” My head is drenched in dew and my hair in the dampness of the night.
