6. Formal Translation But truly, My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they returned and said, “Just as the LORD of Hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Sovereign Executor} purposed to do to us according to our ways and according to our deeds, so has He dealt with us.” |
6. Dynamic Translation But in fact, My words and My laws that I gave to My servants the prophets caught up with your ancestors. So they repented and said, “The LORD of Hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Supreme Commander} acted toward us exactly as He intended—treating us according to our ways and our deeds.” |
