Exegesis
The adversative ve-lo {וְלֹ֥א | və-lōʾ} ‘and not’ introduces the apodosis, and yihyeh ha-geshem {יִהְיֶ֥ה הַגָּֽשֶׁם | yih-yēh ha-gā-šɛm} ‘there will be no rain’ marks the withholding of blessing. This condition illustrates a covenantal principle: failure to honor the king and divine presence through pilgrimage results in drought.
