1 Behold, a day is coming for the LORD {YHWH, Divine Sovereign}, when your spoil will be divided in your midst {beqirbekh: within your very center}.
2 For I {YHWH, Sovereign Commander} will gather all the nations to Jerusalem for battle, and the city will be taken, and the houses plundered, and the women will be violated, and half of the city will go out into exile {galut: forced removal}, but the remainder of the people will not be cut off from the city.
3 Then the LORD {YHWH, Divine Warrior} will go out and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle {krav: armed conflict}.
4 And His {YHWH, Coming Judge} feet {raglav: Symbol of Stability} shall stand on that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split {venivqa: Passive Cleaving} from its middle eastward and westward, forming a very great valley, and half of the mountain shall move northward and its other half southward.
5 And you will flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal. And you will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. And the LORD my God {YHWH Elohai, Divine Deliverer} will come, and all the holy ones {kedoshim: consecrated beings} with you.
6 And it will come to pass on that day that there shall be no light; the precious things {yekarot: treasured luminaries} will congeal {yikipaon: deep frost}, and frost will be present.
7 And it shall be one day— it is known to the LORD {YHWH, Supreme Revealer}; not day and not night, but at the time of evening there shall be light {or: radiance}.
8 And it shall be on that day that living waters {mayim chayim: renewing streams} shall go out from Jerusalem {Yerushalayim: city of renewal}, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea; and it shall be in summer and in winter.
9 And the LORD {YHWH, Universal King} will be king over all the earth; on that day the LORD will be one and His name one {echad: unique}.
10 And all the land shall be turned like the Arabah {ka-aravah: broad plain}, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but it shall be raised up {ra'amah: lifted high} and inhabited in its place, from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.
11 And they will dwell in it, and ban {cherem: total destruction} will not be there again; and Jerusalem will dwell in security {lavetach: unthreatened safety}.
12 And this will be the plague with which the LORD {YHWH, Righteous Judge} will strike all the peoples who have assembled against Jerusalem: their flesh {besar: physical body} will waste away as they stand on their feet, and their eyes will waste away in their sockets, and their tongues will waste away in their mouths.
13 And on that day there will be a great tumult from the LORD {YHWH, Righteous Judge} among them; each man will seize the hand of his neighbor {reʿehu: companion} and his hand will rise against the hand of his neighbor.
14 And also Judah will fight in Jerusalem, and the wealth {cheil: Battle Spoils} of all the nations around will be gathered—gold, silver, and garments {begadim: Valuable Clothing} in very great abundance.
15 And so the plague {maggefah: striking affliction} will be upon the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey, and every beast that is in those camps {machanot: hostile encampments}, just like this plague.
16 And it will be that everyone who remains from all the nations that come against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to bow down before the King, the LORD of hosts {YHWH Tseva’ot, Supreme Commander}, and to keep the feast of booths {chag: pilgrimage festival}.
17 And it will be that whoever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to bow down to the King, the LORD of hosts {YHWH Tsevaot, Divine Commander}, there will be no rain {geshem: seasonal blessing} upon them.
18 And if the family of Egypt does not go up and does not come, there will be no rain upon them; there shall be upon them the plague which the LORD {YHWH, Disciplining Judge} will strike upon the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles {sukkot: temporary shelters}.
19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival {chag: appointed feast} of Booths {hasukkot: temporary dwellings}.
20 On that day, the bells {metsillot: ceremonial ornaments} of the horses will bear the inscription “Holiness to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver},” and the pots in the house of the LORD will be like the bowls before the altar.
21 And every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holiness {kodesh: for sacred use} to the LORD of hosts {YHWH tsevaot, Divine Commander}; and all who sacrifice shall come, take of them, and boil in them. And there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts on that day.
