The directional clause mechetzyo mizracha vayamah {מֵחֶצְיוֹ מִזְרָחָה וָיָמָּה | mê-ḥə-ṣyô miz-rā-ḥāh wā-yā-māh} “from its middle eastward and westward” specifies the cleft’s orientation.
