9. Formal Translation Behold the stone I have placed before Joshua—upon this single stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will carve its inscription, declares the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Commander of Armies}, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. |
9. Dynamic Translation Look, I have placed a stone before Joshua. That one stone has seven eyes. I will carve an inscription on it, says the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tsevaot, Divine Warrior}, and I will take away the land’s sin in a single day. |
