Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Zephaniah 2:11:1 ⧉נוֹרָ֤אnorafearsome or awesome Zephaniah 2:11:2 ⧉יְהוָה֙yahwehthe LORD Zephaniah 2:11:3 ⧉עֲלֵיהֶ֔םalehemagainst them or over them Zephaniah 2:11:4 ⧉כִּ֣יkifor or that Zephaniah 2:11:5 ⧉רָזָ֔הrazahe has made lean or he will famish Zephaniah 2:11:6 ⧉אֵ֖תet Zephaniah 2:11:7 ⧉כָּל־אֱלֹהֵ֣יkaleloheall the gods of Zephaniah 2:11:8 ⧉הָאָ֑רֶץhaaretsthe earth or the land Zephaniah 2:11:9 ⧉וְיִשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־לוֹ֙veyishtakhavuloand they will bow down to him Zephaniah 2:11:10 ⧉אִ֣ישׁisheach man or each one Zephaniah 2:11:11 ⧉מִמְּקוֹמ֔וֹmimmekomofrom his place Zephaniah 2:11:12 ⧉כֹּ֖לkolall Zephaniah 2:11:13 ⧉אִיֵּ֥יiyecoastlands or islands of Zephaniah 2:11:14 ⧉הַגּוֹיִֽם׃hagoyimthe nations |
11. Formal Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Judge} will be awesome to them, for He has famished all the gods of the earth, and every man shall bow down to Him, each from his place, all the coastlands of the nations. |
11. Dynamic Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Overpowering Ruler} will strike terror among them, because He will make all the gods of the earth waste away; then everyone everywhere will bow down to Him, each in his own land, all the islands of the nations. |
