Exegesis

The Qal perfect verb lakach {לָקַח | lā-qaḥ} ‘he took’ presents David {דָּוִד | dā-wîḏ} as the agent acquiring nechoshet {נְחֹשֶׁת | nə-ḥō-šeṯ} ‘bronze’, quantified by rabbah meod {רַבָּה מְאֹד | raḇ-bā mə-ʾōḏ} ‘very much’.
