2. Formal Translation From the nations about which the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Lawgiver} said to the sons of Israel, “You shall not enter into them, and they shall not enter into you. For surely they will turn your heart after their gods.” Solomon clung to them in love. |
2. Dynamic Translation They were from nations about which the LORD {Yahweh, Faithful Commander} warned the Israelites, “Do not intermarry with them or allow them to intermarry with you, because they will definitely turn your heart toward their gods.” But Solomon was attached to them out of love. |
