4. Formal Translation And it came to pass, at the time of Solomon’s old age, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not whole with the LORD his God {Yahweh Elohav, Covenant Keeper}, like the heart of David his father. |
4. Dynamic Translation As Solomon grew old, his wives influenced him to follow other gods, and he was no longer completely devoted to the LORD his God {Yahweh Elohav, Faithful Protector}, as David his father had been. |
