| 13. Formal Translation Because of all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son, which they committed and by which they caused Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD {Yahweh, National Judge} the God of Israel {Elohei Yisra’el, Covenant Protector} with their vanities {hevel: empty, worthless things}. |
| 13. Dynamic Translation It was because of every sin that Baasha and his son Elah committed, and because they led Israel into sin, making the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge} the God of Israel {Elohei Yisra’el, Israel’s Defender} angry with their worthless idols. |
