1 Samuel 1:23:1וַיֹּ֣אמֶרvayomerand he said
1 Samuel 1:23:2לָהּ֩lahto her 1 Samuel 1:23:3אֶלְקָנָ֨הelkanaElkanah 1 Samuel 1:23:4אִישָׁ֜הּishahher husband 1 Samuel 1:23:5עֲשִׂ֧יasido 1 Samuel 1:23:6הַטּ֣וֹבhatovthe good 1 Samuel 1:23:7בְּעֵינַ֗יִךְbeenayikhin your eyes 1 Samuel 1:23:8שְׁבִי֙shevisit or remain 1 Samuel 1:23:9עַד־גָּמְלֵ֣ךְadgamelekhuntil your weaning 1 Samuel 1:23:10אֹת֔וֹotohim 1 Samuel 1:23:11אַ֛ךְakhonly 1 Samuel 1:23:12יָקֵ֥םyakemmay he establish 1 Samuel 1:23:13יְהוָ֖הyahwehLORD 1 Samuel 1:23:14אֶת־דְּבָר֑וֹetdevarothe word of him or his word 1 Samuel 1:23:15וַתֵּ֤שֶׁבvateshevand she sat or remained 1 Samuel 1:23:16הָֽאִשָּׁה֙haishathe woman 1 Samuel 1:23:17וַתֵּ֣ינֶקvatenekhand she nursed 1 Samuel 1:23:18אֶת־בְּנָ֔הּetbenahher son 1 Samuel 1:23:19עַד־גָּמְלָ֖הּadgamelahuntil she weaned him or until her weaning 1 Samuel 1:23:20אֹתֽוֹ׃otohim
23. Formal Translation
And Elkanah said to his wife, “Do what is good in your eyes; stay until you have weaned him. Only may the LORD {Yahweh, Promise Keeper} establish His word.” And the woman stayed and nursed her son until she weaned him.
23. Dynamic Translation
Elkanah told his wife, “Do whatever seems best to you. Stay here until you have finished weaning him. May the LORD {Yahweh, Faithful Promise Keeper} make sure His word comes true.” So the woman stayed at home and nursed her son until she weaned him.
