4. Formal Translation And all Israel heard it said, “Saul has struck the Philistine outpost,” and Israel was held in contempt among the Philistines. And the people were summoned after Saul to Gilgal. |
4. Dynamic Translation When all Israel heard the report that Saul had attacked the Philistine garrison, they realized Israel had become loathsome to the Philistines. So the people gathered behind Saul at Gilgal. |
