3. Formal Translation
Ahijah, son of Ahitub, brother of Ichabod, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, served as priest of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Patron} in Shiloh, wearing the ephod. But the people did not know that Jonathan had gone.
3. Dynamic Translation
Ahijah, son of Ahitub (Ichabod’s brother), descendant of Phinehas and Eli, served as priest of the LORD {Yahweh, Sacred Guide} in Shiloh and wore the ephod. The people did not realize that Jonathan had left.
