| 8. Formal Translation And Saul was exceedingly angry, and this matter deeply displeased him. He said, “They have given to David tens of thousands, and to me only thousands; what more can he have but the kingdom?” |
| 8. Dynamic Translation Saul was furious, and this refrain offended him. He said, “They credit David with tens of thousands, but me with only thousands! What does he have left but the kingship?” |
