11. Formal Translation And they sent for and assembled all the commanders of the Philistines, and said, "Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it return to its place so that it will not kill me or my people; because there had been a panic in the whole city. The hand of the God was very heavy there." |
11. Dynamic Translation So they summoned all the Philistine commanders and said, "Send away the ark of Israel’s God, and let it return to its place so that neither I nor my people will die; because a deadly panic had swept through the whole city. God’s hand was pressing there with very great weight." |
