| 8. Formal Translation The Levites and all Judah carried out everything Jehoiada the priest ordered. Each man took his men—those scheduled to come on the Sabbath together with those scheduled to go out on the Sabbath—because Jehoiada the priest had not dismissed the divisions. |
| 8. Dynamic Translation The Levites and all the people of Judah did exactly as Jehoiada the priest instructed. Each man took his teams, whether arriving to serve on the Sabbath or leaving at the end of their Sabbath shift, because Jehoiada the priest had not released any of the teams. |
