A vav-consecutive sequence wayya‘ămōḏ, wayyōmer, and wayya‘azōv {וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד וַיֹּאמֶר וַיַּעֲזֹב | wayya‘ămōḏ wayyōmer wayya‘azōv} structures the narrative into proclamation and judgment.
