| 22. Formal Translation But King Joash did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada, the father of Zechariah, had done for him, but he killed his son. And as he was dying, he said, “May the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Avenger} see and require it.” |
| 22. Dynamic Translation King Joash forgot the steadfast favor that Jehoiada, Zechariah’s father, had shown him, and he killed Jehoiada’s son. As he was dying, he said, “May the LORD {Yahweh, Justice Giver} see this and make you answer for it.” |
