| 5. Formal Translation And he gathered the priests and the Levites and said to them, “Go out to the cities of Judah and collect from all Israel money to strengthen the house of your God {Elohim, Divine Authority} from year to year; and you, hasten the matter.” But the Levites did not hasten. |
| 5. Dynamic Translation He assembled the priests and the Levites and told them, “Go to the towns of Judah and collect money from everyone in Israel to repair your God’s {Elohim, Temple Sustainer} house each year. Do this quickly.” But the Levites were slow to act. |
