| 6. Formal Translation He took the field and fought the Philistines, and he broke through the wall of Gath, as well as the wall of Jabneh and the wall of Ashdod; then he built cities in Ashdod and among the Philistines. |
| 6. Dynamic Translation He set out to fight against the Philistines and breached the walls of Gath, Jabneh, and Ashdod. After that, he built towns in Ashdod and throughout Philistine territory. |
