Formal Translation Go, inquire of the LORD {Yahweh, Judge of the Nation} on my behalf and on behalf of the remnant in Israel and Judah regarding the contents of the book that was discovered, for the LORD’s wrath is great and has been poured out on us, because our fathers did not guard the word of the LORD by doing everything written in this book. |

Dynamic Translation Go seek counsel from the LORD {Yahweh, Disciplining God} for me and for the few remaining in Israel and Judah about the instruction in the book that was found, because the LORD’s fierce anger has been poured out on us; our forebears failed to obey {shamru: to watch over, guard carefully} the LORD’s word by carrying out all that this book commands. |
