3. Formal Translation And all the sons of Israel saw the fire descending and the glory of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Revealer} upon the house. And they knelt with their faces to the ground upon the pavement and prostrated themselves and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “For He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever.” |
3. Dynamic Translation When the people of Israel saw the fire coming down and the LORD’s glory above the temple, they knelt down with their faces to the pavement, bowed in worship, and gave thanks to the LORD {Yahweh, Praised One}, saying, “He is good; His faithful love lasts forever.” |
