14. Formal Translation And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites for their duties, to praise and to minister before the priests as each day’s requirement demanded, and the gatekeepers in their divisions for every gate. For thus was the commandment of David, the man of God. |
14. Dynamic Translation He organized the priests into their divisions for their work, just as his father David had commanded. The Levites were assigned their tasks, leading the praises and assisting the priests according to each day’s needs, and the gatekeepers were placed in their divisions at every gate. This was the command from David, the man of God. |
