2 Kings 19:3:1וַיֹּאמְר֣וּvayomeruand they said
2 Kings 19:3:2אֵלָ֗יוelayvto him 2 Kings 19:3:3כֹּ֚הkothus 2 Kings 19:3:4אָמַ֣רamarsaid 2 Kings 19:3:5חִזְקִיָּ֔הוּkhizkiyahuHezekiah 2 Kings 19:3:6יוֹם־צָרָ֧הyomtsaraa day of distress 2 Kings 19:3:7וְתוֹכֵחָ֛הvetokhekhaand of rebuke 2 Kings 19:3:8וּנְאָצָ֖הuneatsaand of contempt or disgrace 2 Kings 19:3:9הַיּ֣וֹםhayomthe day 2 Kings 19:3:10הַזֶּ֑הhazethis 2 Kings 19:3:11כִּ֣יkifor 2 Kings 19:3:12בָ֤אוּvauhave come 2 Kings 19:3:13בָנִים֙vanimsons or children 2 Kings 19:3:14עַד־מַשְׁבֵּ֔רadmashberto the point of birthstool or breaking forth 2 Kings 19:3:15וְכֹ֥חַvekhoakhand strength 2 Kings 19:3:16אַ֖יִןayinthere is not 2 Kings 19:3:17לְלֵדָֽה׃leledato give birth
3. Formal Translation
And they said to him, “Thus said Hezekiah: ‘This day is a day of distress, rebuke, and contempt; for children have come up to the birthstool, but there is no strength to give birth.’”
3. Dynamic Translation
They said to him, “This is what Hezekiah says: ‘Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and contempt, because children have come to the point of birth, but there is no strength to bring forth.’”
