Formal Translation And the high places that were east of Jerusalem and on the south side of the Mount of Corruption, which Solomon, king of Israel, had built for Ashtoreth, the abomination of the Sidonians, for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, and for Milkom, the abomination of the sons of Ammon—the king defiled them. |
| 13. Dynamic Translation The king desecrated the pagan shrines east of Jerusalem on the south side of the Mount of Corruption. These were the sites Solomon, king of Israel, had built for Ashtoreth, the idol of the Sidonians; for Chemosh, the god of Moab; and for Milkom of the Ammonites. |
