2 Samuel 14:9:1וַתֹּ֜אמֶרvatomerand she said
2 Samuel 14:9:2הָאִשָּׁ֤הhaishathe woman 2 Samuel 14:9:3הַתְּקוֹעִית֙hattekoitthe Tekoite woman 2 Samuel 14:9:4אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְelhamelekhto the king 2 Samuel 14:9:5עָלַ֞יalaiupon me 2 Samuel 14:9:6אֲדֹנִ֥יadonimy lord 2 Samuel 14:9:7הַמֶּ֛לֶךְhamelekhthe king 2 Samuel 14:9:8הֶעָוֺ֖ןheavonthe guilt 2 Samuel 14:9:9וְעַל־בֵּ֣יתvealbetand upon the house of 2 Samuel 14:9:10אָבִ֑יavimy father 2 Samuel 14:9:11וְהַמֶּ֥לֶךְvehamelekhand the king 2 Samuel 14:9:12וְכִסְא֖וֹvekhisoand his throne 2 Samuel 14:9:13נָקִֽי׃סnakiinnocent or guiltless
9. Formal Translation
The woman of Tekoa said to the king, “May the guilt be on me and on my father’s house; but the king and his throne shall be innocent.”
9. Dynamic Translation
The woman from Tekoa replied to the king, “Let the blame fall on me and my father’s family, my lord the king; may the king and his royal throne remain blameless.”
