| 20. Formal Translation And the servants of Absalom came to the woman at the house and said, “Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” The woman said to them, “They have crossed over the water.” They searched but did not find them, so they returned to Jerusalem. |
| 20. Dynamic Translation Absalom’s men came to the woman’s house and asked, “Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” The woman told them, “They went across the stream.” The men looked for them but could not find them, so they went back to Jerusalem. |
