17. Formal Translation The God {Theos, Covenant Chooser} of this people Israel chose our fathers and made the people great while they were sojourning in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out of it. |
17. Dynamic Translation God {Theos, Powerful Rescuer} of the people of Israel chose our ancestors and caused the people to flourish while they were living as foreigners in Egypt. With a mighty arm He brought them out of that land. |
