He sank into a sleep-like stupor and ended up facedown

Slow down, listen carefully, and respond with humility

Treat the message as background noise and keep going

Wait for a bigger sign before taking the words seriously

Offer quick religious words without letting them affect you

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I come to you humbled and needy. I admit that I have sinned and have not listened to you as I should. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Teach me to hear your words and follow you with a willing heart. Amen.

Humbled to Receive Christ

Lord, revive your Church where we have grown dull to your words. Break our pride, quiet our distractions, and bring us low in reverence before you. Make us a people who hear you with awe, receive your truth with humility, and obey what you say, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Your People to Your Voice

Father, when your words leave me shaken, silent, or lowered, steady my heart with your peace. Teach me that your voice is not against me but for my good. Give me a humble and resting spirit that receives what you say without fear, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Peace When Your Word Humbles Me

Begin with a short silence before Scripture. Admit any distraction, ask God to make you teachable, and invite him to lower your pride. Then read slowly, pause, and ask for one clear response you can obey today.

Pray Before You Listen

Thank God for speaking with power, for words that can humble and correct, and for the mercy of being drawn near to him. Praise him for meeting you in reverent listening and for teaching you through his word.

Giving Thanks for God's Voice

Pray for people who feel overwhelmed, confused, or burdened by what they hear from God, that he would steady them with peace and trust. Pray for friends and family who need to hear his voice clearly this week, and for hearts ready to respond with humility.
