The elite troops of the south are powerless

Acknowledge your limits, seek help, and act wisely

Push harder and assume force will solve it

Do nothing and wait for the problem to disappear

Boast that your side will win no matter what

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I cannot stand on my own. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself to save me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Be my Lord and my Savior, and give me your life and strength. Amen.

Come to the One Who Saves

Lord, revive your Church where we have trusted our numbers, plans, and strength more than you. Make us humble, prayerful, and steadfast. When pressure comes, teach us to stand in your power and not in our own. Awaken us to depend on you for every battle, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Depend on You

Bring before God any pride in your own ability, any habit of pushing ahead without prayer, any fear that makes you grasp for control, and any willingness to trust human strength more than the Lord who upholds you.

Turn Us from Self-Reliance

Name one situation where you feel outmatched. Ask God for wisdom, ask him who to turn to, and ask for the courage to take the next faithful step instead of merely forcing your way through.

Pray for Wisdom When You Feel Outmatched

Father, watch over those who are facing forces stronger than they are. Strengthen the weary, help the outnumbered, and give steady courage when there is no strength left. Be their refuge and defense, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Cover Those Under Pressure

Thank God for every time he has upheld you when you could not stand, for wise allies and timely help, and for the reminder that human power is limited but his care is not.

Give Thanks for Strength Beyond Our Own
