A divine presence is in him, and clarity, discernment, and wisdom are found in him.

He is mainly known for power, rank, and political success.

He keeps his knowledge hidden, so no one notices his insight.

He is famous chiefly for rituals, not for understanding.

Understanding or discernment is found in him

Listen carefully and seek their counsel with humility

Assume they are always right and never test anything

Admire them from a distance, but do not learn from them

Use their insight mainly to advance your own plans

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I need your light, your understanding, and your wisdom. I have sinned and trusted my own way, and I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and confess you as Lord. Please fill me with your Spirit and lead me in your truth. Amen.

Receive the One Who Gives Light

Lord, revive your Church with the clarity, understanding, and wisdom that come from your Spirit. Where we have relied on human strength, breathe on us again. Where we have become proud, make us humble. Where we have grown dull, make us discerning. Let your people reflect your light in a confused world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church with Wisdom

Thank God for giving light to minds, understanding to hearts, and wisdom for life. Thank him that these gifts are not earned by status alone, but can be found where he chooses to place them. Thank him for the people whose insight has helped you see more clearly.

Thanks for Gifts You Give

Pray by naming one decision that feels unclear, asking God for discernment, and then asking for the next faithful step. Speak honestly about where you feel unsure, and invite the Lord to give you the wisdom you need today.

Ask for Clear Direction

Father, bless those whose judgment others depend on. Give them clear sight, humble hearts, and wise words. Keep them from pride, and let the gifts you place in them serve others well, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For Leaders and Teachers

Bring these to God: any desire to impress others with your gifts; any fear that you are not wise enough; a willingness to learn from people God has gifted; and a heart ready to let his light shape your understanding.
