Trust God's rule and pray for leaders with humility

Treat human power as the highest authority

Focus only on private faith and ignore public life

Assume success proves the powerful are always right

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and lived as if I were my own ruler. I need your mercy and I turn from my sin. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Please forgive me, make me yours, and lead my life under your lordship. Thank you for receiving me. Amen.

Come Under Your Rule

Lord, awaken your Church from pride and self-rule. Where we have trusted our own strength, humble us; where we have treated human power as ultimate, re-center us on your throne. Make us a people who know that you rule and that you place whom you will, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your People Under Your Rule

Father, when life strips away my pride and I feel sent away from what I wanted, keep me from bitterness. Give me a teachable heart, steady me in weakness, and let hardship lead me to trust your rule, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

When I Am Humbled

Pray by naming one place where you have been resisting God's rule—your plans, your timing, your status, or your reaction to authority. Ask God to humble you gently and to teach you to trust his wisdom more than your own.

Praying Surrender Over One Area

Pray for the leaders of nations, cities, and homes: that they would remember they are not ultimate, that God would give them restraint and wisdom, and that he would place over every human rule whom he wills.

For Leaders and Kingdoms

Thank God that no human kingdom outruns his rule, that his sovereignty can humble the proud, and that his wisdom is better than the power we see on earth.

Thanksgiving for the Higher King
