They are being commended for their obedience

Getting out of the trouble without changing

Come before God, turn from what is wrong, and ask for his truth to shape you

Wait for the hardship to pass, then continue as before

Explain the hardship in detail, but leave your habits unchanged

Ask only for relief, without any turning of the heart

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and need your mercy. I have gone my own way and ignored your call to turn back. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Forgive me, turn my heart from wrongdoing, and lead me into your truth. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Come Back to the Lord

Lord, awaken your church from prayerlessness. When we come under your correction, teach us to humble ourselves, turn from what is wrong, and seek your truth. Do not let us merely endure trouble; make us a people who return to you with honest hearts, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Us to Pray

Father, I confess the places where I have avoided prayer and held on to sin. Give me grace to turn from what is wrong and to come before you with a willing heart, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Turning Back Today

Pray by naming the trouble, admitting the wrong, asking God for a turning heart, and then asking him to show you one piece of truth you need to obey today.

Pray Through Conviction

Bring these before God: resistance to repentance, numbness toward his truth, and the desire to understand without obeying. Ask for a heart that learns and turns.

A Teachable Heart

Pray for people living under hardship: that trouble would drive them back to God, that they would seek his mercy, and that they would be led into his truth.
