7. Formal Translation To you, O Lord {Adonai, Sovereign Master}, belongs righteousness, but to us belongs the shame of faces as on this day, to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to all Israel, the near and the distant in all the lands where you have driven them, because of their treachery. |
7. Dynamic Translation Lord {Adonai, Supreme Authority}, righteousness is yours, but we are covered with shame today—the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered them, because of their betrayal against you. |
