Exodus 23:9:2לֹ֣אlonot Exodus 23:9:3תִלְחָ֑ץtilkhatsoppress Exodus 23:9:4וְאַתֶּ֗םveattemand you Exodus 23:9:5יְדַעְתֶּם֙yedatemknow Exodus 23:9:6אֶת־נֶ֣פֶשׁetnefeshthe life of Exodus 23:9:7הַגֵּ֔רhagerthe sojourner Exodus 23:9:8כִּֽי־גֵרִ֥יםkigerimfor sojourners Exodus 23:9:9הֱיִיתֶ֖םheyitemyou were Exodus 23:9:10בְּאֶ֥רֶץbeeretsin the land of Exodus 23:9:11מִצְרָֽיִם׃mitsrayimEgypt
9. Formal Translation
You shall not oppress the foreigner, for you know the soul of the foreigner and you yourselves were strangers in the land.
9. Dynamic Translation
Do not mistreat migrants, for you know how it feels to be newcomers since you once lived as strangers in Egypt.
