1 And Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and he said to them, "These are the words that the LORD {YHWH, Command Giver} has commanded {tsivah: authoritative instruction} you to do."
2 For six days, work shall be done, but on the seventh day there shall be for you a holy day, a sabbath, a special rest to the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Sanctifier}; anyone who does work on it shall be put to death {mumat: execution}.
3 You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings {moshvoteikhem: living quarters} on the Sabbath {shabbat: sacred cessation} day.
4 And Moses said to all the assembly of the sons of Israel, “This is the word {davar: specific instruction} that the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Commander} has commanded to say:”
5 Take from among yourselves an offering for the LORD {YHWH, Recipient of Offerings}. Everyone who is willing {nediv: generous of spirit} shall bring it—the offering of the LORD: gold, and silver, and bronze.
6 Blue, purple, scarlet yarn {tola'at: dyed worm fiber}, fine linen {shesh: white textile}, and goat hair.
7 And ram skins {eilim: male sheep hide} dyed red and techash hides {techashim: exotic hide} and acacia wood.
8 And oil {shemen: extracted liquid} for the light, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the incense {qetoret: aromatic blend} of the fragrant aromatics.
9 And onyx stones {shoham: precious black gem} and stones of settings {miluim: gem mountings} for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
10 And let every wise-hearted one among you come and make all that the LORD {YHWH, Command Giver} has commanded {tsivvah: to instruct with authority}.
11 The tabernacle {mishkan: Dwelling Place}, its tent, its covering, its clasps {keras: Fastening Hook}, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases.
12 The ark {ha-aron: sacred chest}, its poles, the atonement cover {kapporet: mercy seat}, and the curtain of the veil.
13 The table {shulchan: Sacred Furnishing}, its poles, all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence {lechem ha-panim: Perpetual Offering}.
14 And the lampstand {menorat: sacred candelabrum} for the light with its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light {shemen: pure olive oil}.
15 And the altar {mizbe’ach: incense offering place} of incense with its poles, and the anointing oil, and the incense of the spices, and the curtain {masakh: sacred partition} at the entrance of the tabernacle.
16 The altar {mizbeach: sacrificial platform} for burnt offering, and the bronze grating that belongs to it, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin {kiyor: ceremonial laver} and its stand.
17 The curtains of the courtyard {hehatsher: sacred enclosure}, its posts {ammudav: support pillars} and its bases, and the curtain for the gate of the courtyard.
18 The tent pegs {yitdot: securing stakes} for the tabernacle, the tent pegs for the courtyard, and their cords {meitrehem: binding ropes}.
19 The garments of service {serad: ministry apparel} for ministering in the sanctuary, the holy garments for Aaron the priest {kohen: sacred office}, and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.
20 And all the assembly {adat: covenant gathering} of the sons of Israel departed from before Moses {Mosheh: appointed leader}.
21 And they came, every man whose heart {lev: seat of desire} stirred him up, and every one whose spirit had freely impelled him, and they brought the offering of the LORD {YHWH, Accepting Sovereign} for the work of the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments.
22 And the men came with the women, and all who were willing of heart{nediv lev: freely motivated} brought clasps, earrings, rings, and armlets—every kind of gold article—and every man who offered a wave offering of gold did so to the LORD{YHWH, Worship Receiver}.
23 And every man who had with him blue {tekhelet: mollusk-derived dye}, purple, scarlet, fine linen {shesh: delicate flax fabric}, goats’ hair, rams’ skins dyed red, and tahash skins brought them.
24 All who contributed the offering of silver and bronze brought the offering of the LORD {YHWH, Worship Recipient} and everyone with whom acacia wood was found for any of the work of the service brought {hevi’u: actively presented} it.
25 And every woman wise of heart {chakmat-lev: possessing skill and discernment} spun with her hands, and they brought what they had spun—the blue {tekhelet: blue-violet dye}, the purple, the scarlet yarn, and the fine linen.
26 And all the women whose heart {lev: inner resolve} urged them in wisdom {chochmah: skilled artistry} spun goats’ hair.
27 And the leaders {nesi'im: tribal heads} brought the onyx stones and the stones for setting {milluim: decorative inlay} for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
28 And the spice {bosem: fragrant resin} and the oil for light, and for the anointing oil {mishchah: sacred consecration}, and for the incense of the aromatic spices.
29 Every man and woman whose hearts {lev: inner disposition} volunteered to bring contributions for all the work that the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Instructor} commanded to be done through the hand of Moses, the Israelites brought a freewill offering to the LORD.
30 And Moses said to the sons of Israel, “See, the LORD {YHWH, Sovereign Chooser} has called by name Bezalel {betsalel: in God’s shadow}, son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.”
31 And He {YHWH, Divine Empowerer} filled him with the Spirit of God {Elohim, Spirit Sustainer}, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship {melakhah: skilled artistry}.
32 And to devise {lachshov: skillful planning} designs for making in gold, in silver, and in bronze {nechoshet: enduring alloy}.
33 And in carving stone for setting {lemalot: installation}, and in carving wood for performing every kind of work of thoughtful design {machashevet: intentional planning}.
34 And to instruct {lehorot: to teach skillfully}, He {Elohim, Source of Wisdom} placed the ability in his heart and in the heart of Oholiab son of Ahisamach from the tribe of Dan.
35 He {Elohim, Giver of Skill} has filled them with wisdom of heart to do every work of an engraver {kharash: precise carving}, designer, embroiderer in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weaver—those who do every work and those who devise plans.
