19. Formal Translation Their silver and their gold they will throw into the streets; their gold will become an unclean thing. Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge}; they will not fill their inward parts—for it was the stumbling block of their iniquity. |
19. Dynamic Translation People will toss their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated like something unclean. Their silver and gold will not save them on the day when the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Judge} pours out His anger. They cannot satisfy their cravings or fill their stomachs with it, for their wealth has become the cause of their stumbling into sin. |
