Genesis 16:5:1וַתֹּ֨אמֶרvatomer{And She} said
Genesis 16:5:2שָׂרַ֣יsaraiSarai Genesis 16:5:3אֶל־אַבְרָם֮elavramto Abram Genesis 16:5:4חֲמָסִ֣יkhamasimy wrong Genesis 16:5:5עָלֶיךָ֒aleikhabe upon you Genesis 16:5:6אָנֹכִ֗יanokhiI Genesis 16:5:7נָתַ֤תִּיnatattigave Genesis 16:5:8שִׁפְחָתִי֙shifkhatimy maidservant Genesis 16:5:9בְּחֵיקֶ֔ךָbekheikekhainto your bosom Genesis 16:5:10וַתֵּ֙רֶא֙vatere{And} she saw Genesis 16:5:11כִּ֣יkithat Genesis 16:5:12הָרָ֔תָהharatashe had conceived Genesis 16:5:13וָאֵקַ֖לvaekal{And} I became despised Genesis 16:5:14בְּעֵינֶ֑יהָbeeinehain her eyes Genesis 16:5:15יִשְׁפֹּ֥טyishpotmay judge Genesis 16:5:16יְהוָ֖הyahwehLORD Genesis 16:5:17בֵּינִ֥יbeinibetween me and Genesis 16:5:18וּבֵינֶֽיךָ׃uveinekhayou
5. Formal Translation
And Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong rests on you. I gave my female servant into your lap, and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. Let the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Arbiter} judge between you and me.”
5. Dynamic Translation
Sarai said to Abram, “This harm to me is because of you. I gave my servant girl to you, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she treats me with contempt. May the LORD {Yahweh, Justice Giver} decide between you and me.”
