Genesis 20:7:1וְעַתָּ֗הveattaand now
Genesis 20:7:2הָשֵׁ֤בhashevreturn Genesis 20:7:3אֵֽשֶׁת־הָאִישׁ֙eshethaishwife of the man Genesis 20:7:4כִּֽי־נָבִ֣יאkinavifor a prophet Genesis 20:7:5ה֔וּאhuhe Genesis 20:7:6וְיִתְפַּלֵּ֥לveyitpallelwill pray Genesis 20:7:7בּֽ͏ַעַדְךָ֖baadekhafor you Genesis 20:7:8וֶֽחְיֵ֑הvekheyelive Genesis 20:7:9וְאִם־אֵֽינְךָ֣veimeinekhabut if you do not Genesis 20:7:10מֵשִׁ֗יבmeshivreturn Genesis 20:7:11דַּ֚עdaknow Genesis 20:7:12כִּי־מ֣וֹתkimotthat surely Genesis 20:7:13תָּמ֔וּתtamutyou shall die Genesis 20:7:14אַתָּ֖הattayou Genesis 20:7:15וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר־לָֽךְ׃vekholasherlakhand all that is yours
7. Formal Translation
Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet; he will pray for you, and you shall live. But if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die—you and all that are yours.
7. Dynamic Translation
Now give the man back his wife, because he is a prophet, and he will pray for you so that you will live. But if you refuse to return her, be sure that you and everyone who belongs to you will die.
