Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Isaiah 11:15:1 ⧉וְהֶחֱרִ֣יםvehekherimand he will devote to destruction or dry up Isaiah 11:15:2 ⧉יְהוָ֗הyahwehthe LORD Isaiah 11:15:3 ⧉אֵ֚תet Isaiah 11:15:4 ⧉לְשׁ֣וֹןleshonthe tongue of Isaiah 11:15:5 ⧉יָם־מִצְרַ֔יִםyammitsrayimthe sea of Egypt Isaiah 11:15:6 ⧉וְהֵנִ֥יףvehenifand he will wave Isaiah 11:15:7 ⧉יָד֛וֹyadohis hand Isaiah 11:15:8 ⧉עַל־הַנָּהָ֖רalhanaharover the River Isaiah 11:15:9 ⧉בַּעְיָ֣םbayamwith the scorching heat of Isaiah 11:15:10 ⧉רוּח֑וֹrukhohis breath or his wind Isaiah 11:15:11 ⧉וְהִכָּ֙הוּ֙vehikkahuand he will strike it Isaiah 11:15:12 ⧉לְשִׁבְעָ֣הleshivainto seven Isaiah 11:15:13 ⧉נְחָלִ֔יםnekhalimchannels or wadis Isaiah 11:15:14 ⧉וְהִדְרִ֖יךְvehidrikhand he will cause to tread or lead Isaiah 11:15:15 ⧉בַּנְּעָלִֽים׃banealimin the sandals |
15. Formal Translation And the LORD {Yahweh, Supreme Deliverer} will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea, and He will wave His hand over the river with the force of His wind, and He will strike it into seven streams and will make people walk over with sandals. |
15. Dynamic Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Mighty Rescuer} will completely wipe out the tongue of the Egyptian sea, and He will sweep His hand over the river with His powerful wind, breaking it into seven streams so that people can cross in sandals. |
