Jeremiah 14:21ExegesisTAB

Jeremiah 14 : 21 Rejection | Covenant | Glory
21. Linguistic Exegesis
The verse opens with the negative particle al {אַל־ | ʾal} ‘do not,’ followed by a sequence of second person verb forms conveying urgent petitions: tinʿaṣ {תִּנְאַץ֙ | tin-ʿaṣ} ‘reject,’ tenabbel {תְּנַבֵּ֖ל | tē-nab-běl} ‘dishonor,’ and zakhor {זְכֹר֙ | zə-khor} ‘remember.’ The repeated al with imperfect and imperative verbs forms parallelism that intensifies the plea. The construct chain kisse kavodekha {כִּסֵּא כְבוֹדֶ֑ךָ | kis-sê kə-vō-də-khā} ‘throne of Your glory’ expresses genitive relationship and divine sovereignty. The final imperfect tāper {תָּפֵ֥ר | tā-per} ‘break’ pairs with ittanu {אִתָּנוּ | ʾit-tā-nū} ‘with us,’ concluding the communal supplication. English punctuation uses semicolons and commas to mirror the Hebrew’s rhetorical flow.
