| 5. Formal Translation And they built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, which I {Yahweh, Sovereign Judge} did not command, nor did I speak, nor did it enter my heart. |
| 5. Dynamic Translation They set up hilltop shrines for Baal and burned their own sons in the fire as sacrifices to Baal—something I {Yahweh, Righteous Judge} never instructed, never even mentioned, and it never entered My heart. |
