| 7. Formal Translation After this declares the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge}, I will hand over Zedekiah, king of Judah, his servants, the people, and those remaining in this city who survived the pestilence, the sword, and the famine into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, into the hands of their enemies, and into the hands of those seeking their lives. He will strike them down with the edge of the sword; he will not spare them, nor will he have compassion, nor will he show mercy. |
| 7. Dynamic Translation After this, says the LORD {Yahweh, Ultimate Authority}, I will deliver Zedekiah, king of Judah, together with his officials, the people, and all who remain in this city—those who survived the plague, the sword, and the famine—into the power of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, to their enemies and to those who hunt them down. He will cut them down with the sword; he will show them no pity, no mercy, and no compassion. |
