| 18. Formal Translation Therefore, thus says the LORD {Yahweh, Just Judge} concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: They will not lament for him, saying “Alas, my brother!” or “Alas, sister!” They will not lament for him, saying “Alas, lord!” or “Alas, his majesty!” |
| 18. Dynamic Translation This is what the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Enforcer} says about Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah: No one will mourn for him, crying “Oh, my brother!” or “Oh, sister!” No one will mourn for him, saying “Oh, master!” or “Oh, his glory!” |
