18. Formal Translation
Therefore, thus says the LORD {Yahweh, Just Judge} concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: They will not lament for him, saying “Alas, my brother!” or “Alas, sister!” They will not lament for him, saying “Alas, lord!” or “Alas, his majesty!”
18. Dynamic Translation
This is what the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Enforcer} says about Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah: No one will mourn for him, crying “Oh, my brother!” or “Oh, sister!” No one will mourn for him, saying “Oh, master!” or “Oh, his glory!”
