| 3. Formal Translation Thus says the LORD {Yahweh, Authority of Justice}: "Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the hand of the oppressor. Do not oppress or do violence to the sojourner, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place." |
| 3. Dynamic Translation This is what the LORD {Yahweh, Defender of the Weak} says: "Uphold justice and do what is right. Rescue the victim from the hand of the oppressor, and do not mistreat or harm the immigrant, the orphan, or the widow. Do not spill innocent blood here." |
