Lord, revive your Church to live from Jesus Christ and not from cold religion or self-importance. Where we have become harsh, make us gracious; where we have become vague, make us truthful; where we have depended on our own effort, draw us back to your Son. Awaken us to carry his life into the world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church People of Grace and Truth

Father, thank you that what your law could point toward, you have given in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your kindness and truth together in him, and for the mercy of receiving both. Teach my heart to rest in what you have done, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray for people who feel crushed by religious performance, for those who have only known judgment, and for those who need to discover God's kindness and truth through Jesus Christ.

Bring to God your desire to stop proving yourself, to receive his favor, and to become a person who speaks truth with gentleness and lives with integrity.
