Why he is baptizing without being one of the expected figures

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to make myself into something I am not. I turn from my sin and need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to make me new and lead my life. Amen.

Come to the Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your Church with humility and truth. Where we have chased status, titles, or attention, turn us back to a clear witness that points away from ourselves and toward Jesus. Make us faithful to the calling you have given us, and free us from the need to be impressive, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your People to Point to Christ

Father, when I am questioned, misunderstood, or compared to others, give me a quiet heart. Keep me from exaggerating who I am, and help me answer with honesty, gentleness, and courage, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Calm When Questioned

Pray by naming one area where people expect more from you than God has actually asked. Ask the Lord to show you what is true, what is not yours to claim, and how to speak with humble clarity.

Praying for Clear Words

Bring these to God: gratitude that you do not have to pretend; thanks for any role he has truly given you; and praise for the freedom to serve without self-promotion.

Thanksgiving for Honest Calling

Pray for people who ask honest questions, for believers who answer them, and for every conversation about Jesus to stay clear, humble, and truthful. Ask God to keep your words from drawing attention to yourself and to make them point to Christ.
